 # Bits vs. Bytes: Die Verwirrung

-| Einheit | Bits | Bytes | Faktor |
-|---------|------|-------|--------|
-| 1 Byte | 8 | 1 | |
-| 1 Kilobyte (KB) | 8.000 | 1.000 | 10³ |
-| 1 Megabyte (MB) | 8.000.000 | 1.000.000 | 10⁶ |
-| 1 Gigabyte (GB) | 8 Mrd. | 1 Mrd. | 10⁹ |
-| 1 Terabyte (TB) | 8 Bio. | 1 Bio. | 10¹² |
+**1 Byte = 8 Bit** → Bits ÷ 8 = Bytes
+
+| Einheit (Bit) | Einheit (Byte) |
+|---------------|----------------|
+| 1 Kbit = 1.000 Bit | 1 KB = 1.000 Byte |
+| 1 Mbit = 1.000.000 Bit | 1 MB = 1.000.000 Byte |
+| 1 Gbit = 1 Mrd. Bit | 1 GB = 1 Mrd. Byte |
+
+**Praxis:** 100 Mbit/s Internet = **12,5 MB/s** Download

**Aber:** Computer rechnen binär (Basis 2)!

 <!--
-SI-Präfixe: Kilo = 1000, Mega = 1.000.000
-Internetgeschwindigkeit in Mbit/s (Megabit pro Sekunde)
-100 Mbit/s = 12,5 MB/s (durch 8 teilen!)
+Bits = kleines b, Bytes = großes B
+Internetanbieter: Mbit/s (klingt größer!)
+100 Mbit/s ÷ 8 = 12,5 MB/s
+Warum? Marketing - 100 klingt besser als 12,5
